Congratulations Elaine Boland on passing your test today, 4th Sep. 2010 at Failsworth Test Centre.

Elaine worked really hard after coming to me from another driving school who had left her feeling a bit deflated. We worked really hard at confidence building and just needed reassurance that what she was doing was correct. A little work on those manoeuvres and you were one of my best Elaine.

It was a great drive today and you deserved to pass. All your hard work paid off and you can now get in your little Yaris and off you go. Watch out for those filter arrows.

Do you wear glasses to drive?

If yes, have you declared this when applying for your licence or notified the DVLA if you have recently been prescribed glassed for driving?

If not, you really should or you could find that if you have an accident your insurance company might not pay out. It is a legal requirement that you declare any visual impairment to the DVLA. If you have declared it, you should have the code '01' on the back of your photo card licence.

If you are a learner and you pass your test, the examiner will not take your licence off you to send away for replacement with a full licence if you wear glasses for the test and do not have the 01 code on the back of your licence. You would have to send your own licence off and must inform the DVLA that you wear glasses for driving.

Congratulations to Edith Thorley on passing her test today, 9.8.10, 1st attempt at Failsworth Test Centre, Oldham! Edith did so well to overcome those nerves and produce a fantastic drive and incur only 5 minor faults. She did us both proud. Edith worked very hard at building her confidence and took on board all the advice I gave her.

Keep up the good work Edith. Remember 'safe driving for life' and see you soon for either motorway lessons or your Pass Plus. Good luck buying your 1st car! You know where I am if you need any advice and phone me when you need those green P plates.

Congratulations Justine Wright on passing your test today at 7.43am at Failsworth Test Centre! I told you it was your day today! :-)

We have worked very hard at getting you to look where you are going (haha!), it helps doesn't it?!!! Well done today, you did a great job and under pressure too. Off you go now and enjoy your driving with your custom made green 'P' plates on (exclusive to me) and remember, no dilly-dallying! Haha! Don't let anyone bully you into speeding either. Take care and will look forward to your motorway lessons. I feel a trip to North Wales coming on!

Congratulations Bobbie on passing your test!

Firstly, sorry it's taken me a while to publish this Bobbie, I've had a mad busy week.

Congratulations to 17 year old Bobbie Brooks on passing her driving test 1st attempt on the 12th July 2010 at Failsworth test centre!

Bobbie had been taking lessons in a manual car and was doing well but decided it might not be for her and came to me through a very good friend of mine, Alan Whitehead ADI who currently teaches for AA Driving School.
Bobbie adapted very well to the automatic car, no left leg twitching, which is always a good sign! During her lessons Bobbie worked very hard to perfect her 'mirror-signal-manoeuvre' routine and manoeuvres, which obviously paid off as after only 10 hours tuition with me she went on to pass 1st time.
Bobbie has now purchased her own car and is proudly displaying her custom made, fully magnetic green 'P' plates, which I have had specially made and I am now selling at £7 pair. Bobbie is hoping to complete her Pass Plus course with me when she returns from a well earned holiday.

The ones you can buy in BMS and Halfords are very flimsy and tend to blow off on their first outing. Mine will not.

Welcome to my blog! I'm hoping to add some interesting insights into driving, some helpful hints and tips for learners or any useful information that I think might be of use to you.

Firstly I'd like to congratulate Kathleen Shuttleworth for passing her test on 2/7/10, 1st attempt at Failsworth test centre. Well done Kath, it was a pleasure teaching you. Take care and safe driving for life! Look after Daisy!

I'd also like to wish Ferdousi and Justine the best of luck on their tests this week.
